    SEASIDE, Calif., August 23, 2019 – California State University, Monterey Bay (ÐÔÊӽ紫ý) began welcoming students back to campus today, officially kicking off ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s 25th anniversary year. Classes begin on Monday, August 26, but all incoming, first-year students are required to attend a weekend long orientation called “Otter Days,” starting Friday, August 23.

    SEASIDE, Ca., August 6, 2019 – California State University, Monterey Bay’s (ÐÔÊӽ紫ý) Director of the Salinas Center for Arts and Culture, and Cinematic Arts and Technology Professor Enid Ryce was awarded the 2019 Monterey County Peace Award today by Monterey County Supervisor, Luis Alejo. Ryce was presented the award during National Night Out at Hebbron Family Center in Salinas along with Alma y Tradicion Ballet Floklorico and Hijos Del Sol, who also received the award.

    SEASIDE, Ca., August 2, 2019 – California State University, Monterey Bay’s (ÐÔÊӽ紫ý) College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) has been selected to receive a five-year $2,125,000 grant from the United States Department of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý. CAMP is a federally-funded program designed to assist ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s migrant students and seasonal farmworker first-time freshmen by providing holistic services that assist those students in reaching a level of self-efficacy that ensures their academic and personal success.

    SEASIDE, Ca., August 1, 2019 – Selena Velasquez, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý psychology senior, and Undergraduate Research Opportunities Center (UROC) scholar, has been selected as Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars for the 2019-20 academic year. Velasquez will be awarded $3,000 to support graduate school and professional development endeavors during the upcoming year.

    SEASIDE, Ca., July 30, 2019 – California State University, Monterey Bay’s (ÐÔÊӽ紫ý) Teacher Pathway Program (TPP), delivered in partnership with local community colleges, has received a grant from the Claire Giannini Fund that will support further program growth in Monterey County. The grant, totaling $195,819, will provide funding to the TPP program to continue the collaborative program with Hartnell College and to expand the model to include Monterey Peninsula College (MPC).

    SEASIDE, Ca., July 24, 2019 – California State University, Monterey Bay’s (ÐÔÊӽ紫ý) Master of Science Physician Assistant Program (MSPA) has received a grant from California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s (OSHPD) Song-Brown Healthcare Workforce Development Training Program. The grant, totaling $72,000, will provide funding to the MSPA program to provide clinical training and education to PA students to prepare them to provide medical care to patients in underserved communi

    SEASIDE, Calif., July 16, 2019 -- The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) has reaffirmed California State University, Monterey Bay's (ÐÔÊӽ紫ý) accreditation for a full 10 years, which is the longest achievable period of accreditation.
