Even in a pandemic, Bright Futures continues to work diligently toward its goal of fostering progress in education outcomes in Monterey County. Bright Futures — ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s community partnership between local education, government, business, and non-profit groups — is working to boost the number of students applying for college financial aid applications before the March 2 deadline.

CSU Monterey Bay’s Master of Science Physician Assistant Program celebrated a major milestone for the Class of 2022, its second cohort of MSPA students, with a virtual White Coat Ceremony on Feb. 13.

Information Systems is the study of the interaction of technology — hardware, software, telecommunications, databases, networks — organizations, and humans: when a company use social media for marketing communications, when people vote by using voting machines, the whole structure of Amazon.

In the past, the annual Employee Appreciation breakfast has taken place in the University Ballroom, with a buffet breakfast spread ready for the early morning influx of faculty and staff members. It’s been the venue where President Ochoa presents the President’s Medal to one faculty, one staff and one MPP for exemplary service.

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý is overwhelmed and grateful to the community for their generous donations, exceeding our fundraising goals. The university launched the first-ever comprehensive campaign in July 2015 and the public phase of the Vision 2020 campaign last May with a stretch goal of reaching $100 million in donations. The campaign concluded on Dec. 31, 2020, achieving $100,822,500 in philanthropic commitments.

The United Soccer League, sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation as a Division II professional league, has announced that its newest team will make its home at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý.

The Wang Family Excellence Award recognizes four California State University faculty members and one staff member each year who have contributed and achieved above expectations in their profession.

A short film by two Cinematic Arts and Technology faculty members — Meghan O’Hara, an assistant professor, and lecturer Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck—has been accepted into this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

The Otter Cross Cultural Center began life in a vacuum with few resources. It has since grown into an activism incubator and familial second home for many students.
