When we work together to prevent crime, we all benefit. ÐÔÊӽ紫ý University Police regularly hosts departmental training sessions, campus events, and community classes in CPR and AED as well as self-defense.

Theft Prevention

Taking precautions with your property can help reduce the likelihood of theft. In addition to the general steps you might take anywhere — like locking your vehicle and windows and keeping valuables out of plain sight — ÐÔÊӽ紫ý University Police have a few campus-specific tips.

• Always lock your bicycle to a designated rack using a strong, secure lock (we recommend a U-lock). Keep a record of its serial number, and consider adding it to our . 
• Vehicle thefts and car burglaries at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý typically occur at night. Be sure to keep your car locked with windows rolled up and remove any valuables from sight. Stay alert in parking areas at night and report any suspicious activity to the University Police Department.
• Never leave your laptop unattended, and consider safeguarding your personal information using a secure digital password management system.

The University Police Department regularly delivers active shooter preparedness training presentations. If you are interested in scheduling a presentation for your department, contact us at upd@csumb.edu.

Sexual Assault Prevention

The ÐÔÊӽ紫ý University Police Department regularly offers courses in the Rape Aggression Defense System (RAD), taught by nationally certified instructors.
