Project Timeline: Jan 2024- Spring Semester 2028

Client: 性视界传媒 and NOAA

Design Team: WRNS STUDIO

Contractor: Otto Construction

Design and construct a new academic building, the Edward Taylor Science and Engineering Building (#52), to support growing programs in the College of Science, including Marine Science and the new Mechatronics Engineering program. The project will include approximately 23,000 gross square feet of space, developed in partnership with the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS), under NOAA, including approximately 4,400 assignable square feet dedicated to MBNMS. The building will consolidate teaching labs, research facilities, and administrative offices, featuring new laboratories for Marine Science and Mechatronics Engineering, along with shared spaces for both programs. The second floor will accommodate NOAA offices, the Mechatronics Engineering suite, and a Marine Science graduate student area.
