Dive Into Wellness

The Aquatics Center at Cal State Monterey Bay offers a welcoming space for recreation, fitness, and community. Open to all currently enrolled students at no cost, the facility features lap swimming and open swim hours throughout the week. The center also supports faculty and staff memberships, locker rentals, and lifeguard employment opportunities. Whether you're training for wellness or just looking to unwind, the Aquatics Center is a place where Otters come together to stay active and connected.

Hours and Access – Fall 2026

Open swim runs begin August 24th through December 18th, 2026

Open Swim Hours:

  • Monday: 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The pool will be closed on:

  • September 7th
  • November 11th
  • October 24th
  • November 20th through 29th

Hours may change. A sign will be posted out front of the Aquatics Center facility with any updates.

Aquatic Center Usage

The Aquatics Center is free to all currently enrolled students.

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý faculty and staff can join the Aquatics Center by submitting a payroll deduction form. Bring a completed copy to a lifeguard to activate your membership.

Know Before You Go

  • NEW CHECK-IN AREA! Entrance remains the same on the northwest side of the
    aquatics center. The new check-in area is at Room 110. You MUST check in with a
    lifeguard before entering the locker room or pool.
  • ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Aquatics Center is ONLY for ÐÔÊӽ紫ý students, faculty and staff.

All members of the campus community are expected to fully comply with the protocols and guidelines outlined in this section to ensure the well-being of our campus community.

All visitors must follow posted safety guidelines to help protect the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý community. Protocols may change to meet university, county, and state health requirements.

Locker Rooms and Rentals

Locker rentals are free for faculty and staff members of the Aquatics Center. To request a locker, complete the Locker Request Form.
