    The Otter Cross Cultural Center and Otter Student Union hosted a virtual evening chat with actress and LGBTQ+ advocate Laverne Cox on Thursday, April 8. Cox shared her experience being a transgender actress, and she imparted a message about self-love and resilience for ÐÔÊӽ紫ý students.

    ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s Department of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý and Leadership and the Center for Black Student Success collaborated on an April 7 virtual panel discussion, Men of Color in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, in an effort to encourage more men of color to consider going into the field of teaching and education.

    The partnership between the Monterey County chapter of the NAACP and ÐÔÊӽ紫ý celebrated its 10th anniversary by honoring community leaders and social justice advocates. Three ÐÔÊӽ紫ý students received awards in the Youth Black Excellence category, and two employees received African American Advocate and Champion awards.
