Among four-year higher education systems in the country, the California State University system is the largest, is considered one of the best values, and nets enormous positive impact on people’s lives.

Armando Arias, a professor in the School of Social, Behavioral & Global Studies, has written a book titled Theorizing Cesar Chavez: New Ways of Knowing STEM. It received an honorable mention at the 2020 International Latino Book Awards.

California State University, Monterey Bay students received over $4 million of federal emergency relief funding last Monday, March 15. Specifically, 5,433 students received between $200 and $800, totaling $3,328,400; and 313 DACA and international students received Institutional Emergency Relief aid, totaling $121,800.

Last year, when COVID-19 began to spread across the country, eventually encroaching into Monterey County, it shut down public gatherings, including concert performances. Live music has been almost entirely absent from our cultural landscape since.

As the nation’s focus turns to COVID-19 vaccinations, CSU Monterey Bay’s Master of Science Physician Assistant program is playing a vital role in helping Monterey County defeat the disease.

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý has been recognized for its leadership in sustainable practices in the 2020 Sustainable Campus Index, a publication from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher ÐÔÊӽ紫ý (AASHE), a leader and driver in North America’s campus sustainability movement.

Two ÐÔÊӽ紫ý undergraduate students took top awards at the 34th Annual California State University (CSU) Student Research Competition on April 24. CSU East Bay hosted this year’s event, which was virtual for the first time because of the coronavirus pandemic.
